Mexico City Vegan Food Guide: Top Vegan Restaurants in  Mexico City

Whether you’re planning a weekend away in Mexico City or just passing through on your travels; I have you sorted for plant based breakfast, lunch and dinner spots:

Breakfast: Forever Vegano

This cute little cafe right next to Chapultepec park is adorned with murals and wall art. The menu includes vegan twists on Mexican classics as well as acai bowls and epic pancake stacks. Not to mention, juices, smoothies and kombucha galore. I recommend the “beans on toast” which includes avocado, melted vegan cheese and cauliflower “chorizo”. Delicious!  As well as serving up delicious meals, the cafe has an adjoined shop full of all the best vegan treats, snacks, ingredients and skincare. It is heaven.

Vegamo MX

This cosy spot right in the heart of the Historic Centre of the city is super popular. It has a whole range of salads, burgers, pasta, pizza and even vegan pad thai. The food is next level and the flavours are out of this world. Don’t miss the brownie which is so much more gooey and delicious than it looks; and the golden milk is a mug full of dreams. Warning: the service leaves much to be desired but the food is so worth the wait.

La Pitahaya Vegana

Located in the district of Roma, this little restaurant is best know for their tacos. We tried one of every taco flavour they offer and weren’t disappointed with the single one; although the highlight was definitely the cauliflower taco! Sounds bizarre, tastes divine. Don’t miss the “yogi elixir” which is a turmeric infused refreshing drink, as well as the vegan lassi! The menu is in Spanish, but just risk it and take a guess – everything is delicious I promise! As an added bonus, there is a sweet little ice cream shop adorned with rope swings right next door. It serves up more-ish vegan chocolate ice cream! Winning!

Safe travels!
