3 Super Nutritious Smoothie Recipes

Superfood powders used to be inaccessible to the masses due to their excruciatingly high price tags. Luckily, the guys at Aldi have come out with their own range of nutrient dense powders which are a fraction of the price, without sacrificing the quality. Finally, we can all pimp out our smoothies with some powdered goodness!

Here are three of my favourite recipes using the Aldi Funktional Foods powders:

Salted Caramel Smoothie

Maca is a great source of vitamin B2 and provides a much needed energy boost first thing in the morning. It also has a subtle caramel taste, perfect for a salted caramel smoothie!

1 frozen banana

2 pitted medjool dates

1 heaping tsp of maca powder

1 pinch of salt

Oat milk (to cover ingredients)

Just pop all the ingredients in a blender and blitz together!

Super Green Smoothie

The Green Superblend Powder combines wheatgrass, pea protein, barley grass, spinach, ginger and spirulina; adding a protein boost to your breakfast.

1 frozen banana

1 handful fresh spinach

1 tbsp Green Superblend powder

1 tbsp maple syrup/agave syrup

1 heaping tbsp almond butter

Oat milk (to cover ingredients)

Just pop all the ingredients in a blender and blitz together!

Creamy Cacao & Peanut Butter Smoothie

Cacao is a great source of iron, potassium, copper and magnesium; which help to support your immune system. Not to mention it tastes incredible!

1 frozen banana

2 heaping tbsp cacao powder

1 heaping tbsp peanut butter

1 tbsp maple syrup/agave syrup

Oat milk (to cover ingredients)

Just pop all the ingredients in a blender and blitz together!

Mix It Up

These powders as well as the rest of the range (Spirulina & Wheatgrass Powders) can not only be used in juices and smoothies, but mixed into yoghurt, sprinkled onto salad or stirred into oatmeal. The list is endless!
