The Round Up: August

When I planned my year, I scheduled August in as a relaxing month. I took on less jobs, I booked in less trips and I intended to stay at home and just chill out.

Well… that didn’t happen!

August turned out to be pretty manic, but also extremely enjoyable. I still got to spend a lot of time in the UK and got to experience the London summer! In the midst of this hectic month I accumulated a selection of favourite things:

Vegan Protein Cookie Dough

In August I rediscovered my love for vegan cookie dough. This is a recipe I used to make almost daily a few years ago. Last month I had my friend Steph Smith come round for dinner and decided to make it for dessert. Damn, I forgot how amazing it is! I have since made it 3 more times!! Check out the recipe for it here.

Rhythm 108 Tea Biscuits

I love Rhythm 108 because their products come in 100% compostable packaging, which is just amazing. In August I tried out their tea biscuits and hot diggity damn they are incredible. My favourite was the almond biscotti. I definitely polished off a sharing bag to myself… in an hour. Oops!

The Isle of Wight

In August I got signed as a Visit England ambassador (yay!) and took my first British trip, to the Isle of Wight. It completely exceeded my expectations and I had the best weekend. It took me back to my country roots, with its rolling hills, lush forests, gorgeous coastlines, friendly locals and delicious produce. Read more about my trip here!

Healthy Chef Steph

I headed to the Isle of Wight with my friend Steph Elswood. I think this trip was a turning point for us and brought us closer together than every before. We have the same ethos, same principles and same beliefs. She is such an incredible, genuine and considerate human and I feel so lucky to have her in my life. Give her a follow!

Sports Massages

In the month of August I set myself the goal of increasing my physical self-care, specifically in the form of massages, foam rolling and stretching. I booked in sports massages on a weekly basis with the best physio and sports masseuse I have ever ever ever seen. She causes me a lot of pain, but also a lot of muscular release and my body feels like new! Contact her on: joanna.lepkowska.84@gmail.com.

Zurich

In 2016 I visited Switzerland twice and I fell in love. So I was so excited to visit again this year and explore Zurich. What an incredible city. It is a haven for vegetarians and vegans; and I loved that you could easily hike mountains, cycle around lakes or swim in crystal blue rivers, right in the centre of town! It has everything a great city needs. Watch my vlog from the trip here.

My Birthday!

In August I turned the ripe old age of 25. I am officially in my mid twenties guys! I had the most lovely day and treated myself to an afternoon at the Gatelli House spa. This spa is the by far the best I have visited in London, I am literally in love with it! I also had a lovely dinner at one of my favourite veggie restaurants: Ethos. Check it out if you’re in London!

Bring on September!
