I have been asked a million times to try and make a healthy apple crumble recipe, so here it is just for you! This is delicious and nutritious!

For the base layer you need:
2 large cooking apples
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/4 cup water

Chop up the apples into bite size pieces. Put the apples in a bowl with the spices and raisins, stir until the apple is coated in spices. Heat up a non stick pan on a medium/high and pop in the apple/spice/raisin mix and add in 1/4 cup water. Simmer until the apples are softened – you might need to add more water depending on how long it takes. Once the apples are softened (about 10-15 minutes usually) place them in the bottom of your crumble tray.

For the crumble layer you need:
1 cup whole rolled oats
1/2 cup almond flour
1/4 cup powdered stevia
1/3 cup toasted almond flakes
1/4 cup dessicated coconut
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Combine the crumble ingredients and pour them over the top of the base layer. Bake at 180 degrees for about 20-25 minutes or until the crumble is beginning to turn golden brown.

Top tip: This tastes AMAZING with some blackberries (or any other berry) added in. Just pop them in with the apples once they have softened a bit!
