The January Round Up

Well, what a start to 2018! I can’t believe a whole month has already passed, it seems to have gone by in a blink of an eye. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t absolutely jam-packed full of exciting adventures and opportunities though. During the 31 days of January I discovered a whole host of new favourites which I wanted to share with you, from memorable moments and eye-opening books through to hilarious podcasts and revolutionary beauty products.

Fit and Fearless Podcast

If you haven’t heard, #girlgains have teamed up with the BBC to bring out a brand spanking new podcast. It is all about fitness, nutrition, self-love and female empowerment. We combine our own experiences, our knowledge as personal trainers, expert guests and a sprinkle of banter; to create an informative yet fun podcast! We release new episodes every Wednesday and you can tune in using iTunes!

Are We Screwed? by Geoff Dembicki

This informative yet digestible book discusses how the millennial generation are going to be those who tackle climate change through radical approaches which perhaps have not been considered in the past. A book full of horrifying facts but counteracted with glimmers of hope. It gives you a fire in your belly to support positive change and support our planet.

Kindness by Jaime Thurston

A more lighthearted read which you can dip in and out of. Jaime shares 52 small acts of kindness you can incorporate into your daily life to not only brighten your day but those of others. It is both heart warming and inspiring.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish

I have re-fallen in love with this cleanser, which I used to use many years ago! I switched from using face wipes to a flannel and cleanser a few months ago, for sustainability reasons. Since then I have been trying a whole host of different products, some great, some not so much. Luckily this one is a dream, being both gentle but effective at removing makeup and dirt from the day.

Unique Home Stays

At the beginning of January I went and stayed in the Lake District for a beautiful winter weekend. One of the highlights of the trip was my accommodation, a stunning boathouse on Lake Windemere with the most gorgeous panoramic views. It was a Unique Home Stays house, a company I had never heard of before, but now I am addicted to browsing their website and desperate to visit their homes across the world!

Another Space HIIT Classes

January has been a lot busier than I expected and as a result I have struggled to fit in workouts. To resolve this, I have booked in for short, sweet and sweaty sessions at studios across the city. My favourite of the month has been the 35 minute HIIT class at Another Space which they do at 6.45am. It is efficient and challenging, meaning you get a tough workout in a short period of time. Perfect for those busy mornings!

Mindful Bites Nut Butter Crunchy Bites

These new bars from Mindful Bites are my current addiction. Imagine light crispy wafers stuffed with the most creamy delicious nut butter blends. Put nut butter in anything and I am its biggest fan, so it is fair to say I literally can’t stop eating them!

Hair Extensions

January was my month of radical hair transformation. I have always dreamt of having hair which goes past my shoulders and sadly my naturally blonde locks are too fine to provide me with that privilege. As a result, I have wanted to try hair extensions for over 3 years but could never afford it. However this month I finally bit the bullet and took the plunge. I headed to Vixen and Blush, the only place I would trust with such an important task, and I couldn’t be happier with the results!!!

So thats my January in a nutshell, I hope you have gleaned some new recommendations and ideas from my round up. Have a lovely February!

Zanna xx
